Wigan MBC Revamped - Intech Furniture

Technical furniture specialists, Intech Furniture, announce their completion of Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council’s new control room. After working closely with Wigan Council the control room upgrade was put out to tender to four console manufacturers. Taking into consideration the durability and aesthetics of the existing control room furniture, which Intech installed some fifteen years earlier, the innovative design submitted along with competitive pricing offered by Intech resulted in them successfully being awarded the contact after the review process. Intech then worked in conjunction with Terry Bolton and Tony Hollinrake, principle officers for Wigan Council, to finalise an up to date design reflecting the advancements in technology. Wigan is currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment, of which CCTV and security is one of their main focus points. Using 67” Barco projection cubes along with multi-operator consoles, featuring Intech’s unique ‘dropped back’, the control room has been completely transformed. With operator comfort in mind, KAB 24hr controller chairs were also supplied allowing operators to adjust their seating to suit their needs.
